Pet Care Diary Privacy Policy

Last updated:

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how JenoLeap ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Pet Care Diary mobile application and related services (the "Service").

Pet Care Diary helps pet owners manage pet profiles, health logs, vaccinations, vet visits, medication reminders, PDF reports, offline records, and optional Smart Pet Tag features. The Service is designed for personal pet care record keeping and reminders worldwide.

Pet Care Diary is designed for personal pet care record keeping and reminders. It is not a replacement for professional veterinary advice.

By using Pet Care Diary, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect and process:

  • Account information such as your name and email address
  • Pet profile details you enter (for example, name, species, breed, and date of birth)
  • Pet photos if you upload them
  • Health logs and notes
  • Vaccination records
  • Vet visit notes and appointment details
  • Medication reminders and schedules
  • App usage preferences and settings
  • Consent preferences (for example, analytics consent where offered)
  • Smart Tag public profile settings, if you enable that feature

We aim to collect only what is needed to provide the Service. We do not sell your personal data.

3. Pet Health Records

Pet health records you create in Pet Care Diary are private by default.

Your vaccination history, medication notes, vet visit records, and other health logs are stored for your personal use. They are not made public, sold, or shared with clinics, advertisers, insurers, or other organisations unless you explicitly request or enable a supported feature (such as sharing a PDF report with your vet yourself, or choosing what appears on a Smart Tag public profile).

We do not sell your pet health records.

4. Offline Storage

Pet Care Diary supports offline use. Some data may be stored locally on your device so you can view and update records without an internet connection.

Local data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, or sync changes that remove it from linked cloud storage. We recommend using device security features such as screen locks to help protect data stored on your device.

5. Cloud Sync

Where cloud sync is supported, your account and pet data may be stored and synchronised using Supabase infrastructure configured for the Service.

Cloud sync helps keep your records available across sessions and devices. Data transmitted for sync is used to provide backup, account access, and core app functionality — not to sell your information or share your pet health records with third-party organisations.

6. PDF Reports

You can generate PDF health reports from information you have entered in the app.

Reports are created for your own use — for example, to bring to a vet appointment or keep for your records. You choose whether and how to share a PDF with a veterinarian or anyone else. Pet Care Diary does not automatically send your reports to clinics or other organisations.

7. Smart NFC + QR Pet Tags

Smart Pet Tags are optional. If you use NFC or QR smart tags, you control what appears on the public profile linked to a tag.

Important:

  • Public tag pages only show information you enable
  • Your home address is not shown on public tag pages
  • Private health logs are not shown on public tag pages
  • Phone numbers or other contact details are only shown if you choose to enable them
  • You can deactivate a tag or update visibility settings where supported in the app

Smart Tags are intended to help someone contact you if your pet is found — not to expose your full health history or private records.

8. Analytics

Analytics are optional. In the current MVP, analytics are disabled or only collected with your explicit consent where the app offers an analytics choice.

If you give consent, analytics may be used to understand feature usage and improve app reliability and usability. Analytics are not used to sell your personal data or your pet health records.

If analytics consent is not given, analytics tracking should not run. You may be able to change analytics preferences in app settings where available.

9. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide app features and operate the Service
  • Save and display your pet records
  • Send reminders and notifications you configure
  • Sync data across sessions and devices where supported
  • Generate PDF reports you request
  • Support Smart Tag public profile features you enable
  • Improve app reliability, security, and usability
  • Respond to support requests and privacy-related enquiries
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your information to sell personal data, sell pet health records, display third-party ads, or share health records with clinics, advertisers, insurers, or other organisations unless you explicitly request or enable a supported feature.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We do not sell your pet health records.

We do not share your pet health records with clinics, advertisers, insurers, or other organisations unless you explicitly request or enable a supported feature.

We may share limited information only in these situations:

  • With service providers that help us run the Service (such as hosting, authentication, or cloud sync), under contractual obligations to protect your data and use it only to provide the Service
  • When you explicitly choose to share information (for example, by configuring a Smart Tag public profile or sharing a PDF report yourself)
  • When required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security

The current MVP does not include paid subscriptions, advertising, B2B clinic dashboards, or organisational data-sharing features.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that any system is 100% secure. We work to maintain appropriate safeguards as the Service evolves.

12. User Choices and Controls

You can:

  • Edit pet profiles and health records within the app
  • Delete individual records where supported
  • Export data, including PDF reports, for your own use
  • Delete your account or request account deletion
  • Manage analytics consent where the app offers that choice
  • Manage Smart Tag visibility and deactivate tags where supported

You may also contact us to request access, correction, export, or deletion of your data. Some choices may affect how certain features work — for example, declining cloud sync may limit multi-device access.

13. Data Retention

We keep your information while your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, fulfil the purposes described in this policy, and meet legal or operational requirements.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data through in-app controls where available, or by contacting us. After deletion, we remove or anonymise data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate operational needs permitted by applicable law.

14. Children's Privacy

Pet Care Diary is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent from a parent or guardian, where required by applicable law.

If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

15. International Users

Pet Care Diary may be used by people in different countries around the world. Privacy laws and your rights may vary depending on where you live.

We aim to handle information in a transparent, privacy-first way regardless of location. If you have questions about how this policy applies in your region, contact us using the details below.

16. Future Features

If we introduce paid features, advertising, analytics integrations, B2B clinic dashboards, partner data sharing, or aggregated data reports, we may update this Privacy Policy and ask you to review and accept updated terms where required.

We will not sell your personal data or pet health records, or share health records with clinics, advertisers, insurers, or other organisations, unless clearly described in an updated policy and enabled only with your explicit choice or request.
